Wilderness Medicine Training

The American Mountain Guides Association requires its Certified Guides to hold current Wilderness First Responder certification. In addition, a 60-hour or greater Wilderness First Responder certification is a prerequisite for all AMGA programs with the exclusion of the Rock Instructor Course. No claim by the AMGA is made regarding the credibility or professionalism of any person or company providing wilderness medicine training. We recommend that those interested in more information about medical training and its standards contact the Wilderness Medical Society.
