Mike Powers

After skiing in Verbier Switzerland in the late 80’s, Mike signed up for an AMGA alpine guides course in 1991 and started guiding for the American Alpine Institute that same year. In 1998 he received his IFMGA certification and is a past technical director of the AMGA. He has been teaching and examining for the AMGA for the past ten years. He lives in Bend, Oregon with his wife Carla and his son Sameer.
